The
Birth Anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar,
the 14th of April every year is being observed as the National Equality
Day. It is on this day that the Nation
pays homage to Late Dr B.R. Ambedkar.
Dr Ambedkar Jayanti (Birth Anniversary) was celebrated at Sagroli with utmost reverence. The special invitee was Shri Maloji Phugare, a past student of Shivaji Highschool and now lecturer in Physics at Nanded. In his speech he said, Dr Ambedkar began a Movement of education for so called low-caste people. His slogan was ‘Educate-Unite-Fight’. And the Karmayogi Babasaheb Deshmukh carried the movement forward to provide education to people at grass-root level. He started the first ever hostel for back-ward classes, in Nanded District.
Speaking further he said, there must be an independent commission for Education. In India, Education should be given free of cost. This act might create an attachment with the Nation. Youth would start thinking of their own contribution towards Nation.
